That’s a nice way to put it, time is fleeting. Sometimes what I really want to say is “Time is a real pain in the butt,” or “Time is a careless, ruthless thing.” It regulates us and consumes us as human beings.
One second time is your friend, you feel that you have nothing but time, too much time. Time couldn’t be moving fast enough. You want to graduate high school sooner, you want to become an adult sooner. That is when time gets you and grants your wish.
Time suddenly speeds up and you start grasping at the days as they’re flying past you. You make decisions intended to save time, but these efforts can’t slow it down.
Time starts taking loved ones away. Sometimes swift and quickly. Sometimes it takes your loved ones slowly. So slowly that in fact you turn around one day and it seems they aged 30 years over night.
Time is often cruel to us but time can also be rewarding. You can use time to grow and learn. In time you can have a job, love, marriage, house and children. Time really is both our friend and enemy. We need to remember that it really doesn’t stop for anyone and that we need to enjoy the time we have now.
